Scott Weiland Responds To STP Firing

In 2008, Stone Temple Pilots reunited and have toured constantly until the past year. Just a couple of days ago Stone Temple Pilots have announced that they were parting ways with frontman Scott Weiland, who was caught unaware and had heard about his firing through the press.
In an interview with Rolling Stone before the day of his firing, Weiland denied rumors regarding the status of the band and expressed hopes for new Stone Temple Pilots material, saying:
My personal feeling is that we just need some new blood in the band. It'll give it new energy, so that we're not just playing the same greatest hits set we've been playing ever since we got back together after I left Velvet Revolver. I'd like to make a new record so it breathes new life into it.
In response to the recent developments, Weiland issued the following statement on February 27th:
“I learned of my supposed "termination" from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press. Not sure how I can be "terminated" from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that’s something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday.” – Scott Weiland
The future of Stone Temple Pilots remains unclear. Scott Weiland on the other hand will be doing a solo tour this March focused on material from the first two Stone Temple Pilots records.
