We are very big fans of April Hernandez around these parts. Her project, TheSunManager, is an example of how to do proper literate folk music. And while it’s smart, it’s still got heart—lots of it. It seems TheSunManager is just one of those new, young musical acts that have heralded a new age in Filipino music that focuses on smart songwriting, beautiful arrangements, and brilliant lyricism.
Now, Hernandez aka TheSunManager will be launching her new self-titled EP with the help of A Spur of The Moment Project. The show is on Saturday, November 15 at Route 196. Other performers include B.P. Valenzuela, Reese and Vica, and Ourselves the Elves. The entrance fee is PHP200 or you can shell out PHP350 and get yourself a copy of the EP as well.
Be there and witness the future of Filipino music, and marvel at just how good TheSunManager and these other acts are.
