Joe Cocker

Joe Cocker, the soulful singer and rock icon who gave us such classics as “You Are So Beautiful” and his rendition of The Beatles’ “With A Little Help from My Friends” has passed away at the age of 70 after a long battle with cancer. His agent, Barrie Marshall, announced the singer’s passing. He says it was “the heaviest hearts we heard that our beloved Joe Cocker passed away last night”. He added, “He was without the doubt the greatest rock/soul voice ever to come out of Britain and remained the same man throughout his life.”

Countless of personalities including The Beatles’ Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr paid tribute to Cocker. According to Sir Paul, “’I knew him through the years as a good mate and I was so sad to hear that he had been ill and really sad to hear today that he had passed away.” After Cocker’s passing was announced, Ringo Starr tweeted: “Goodbye and God bless to Joe Cocker from one of his friends, peace and love.”
