The Charmes are known for their charming (pun intended) take on Britpop and indie rock. However, last week they sent me a copy of their latest track “Dangerous Girl”. And I must say, I am pleasantly surprised. The track, produced by Ean Mayor of Up Dharma Down is something you wouldn’t expect based on the sensibilities of both band and producer. Clocking in at about 3 minutes, “Dangerous Girl” is a short burst of gritty garage rock complete with organs, loud guitars, and pounding bass lines. This is The Charmes channelling their inner 60s rock revivalists.
“Dangerous Girl” is taken from the band’s upcoming second album, which will hopefully see the light of day soon. And if it’s any indication from the single, it’s going to be worth the wait.
