Get splashed in fun, rocking fashion as Docdef Productions kicks off its 100th gig with a three-part event called IN D’ FLOW. The live gig shindig has already started with an initial leg at The Brewery last November 5, and will head on for another round at Route 196 on November 21.
The celebration will end on a grander, more exciting scale on November 28 at Flowhouse MNL in Bacoor, Cavite. A collaboration with Flow House Manila, Docdef’s much-anticipated out-of-town gig will be held in one of the country’s top water amusement resorts, bringing a new dimension to what a music show should be: fun, innovative, and engaging.
Experience a day of flow riding, skateboarding, DJ sets, independent music acts, and live art with this upcoming lifestyle event! At the heart of this fun-filled, one-day celebration are the music performances from some of the finest independent acts this side of the globe. There’s room for everyone who enjoys headline-worthy indie stars (Autotelic, Farewell Fair Weather, Jensen and the Flips, Oh Flamingo, She’s Only Sixteen, and Sud), who wants to bask in rowdier, noisier spectrum of rock (Lions and Acrobats, Mr. Bones and The Boneyard Circus, Tonight We Sleep), who wants to see eclectic rookies (Dayaw, Fools and Foes, Graceson, Miles Experience, Run Dorothy, The SunManager, and Tom’s Story), and who wants to wrap their ears with groovy joints (Banna Harbera, Five-Story Fire, Gabe Piolo, MilesExperience, Ube and more). There will also be DJ sets from Bass Relief, Ize, 199x, FXXXYBlnt, The BGNR and live art with DocDef resident artist Myk Galido a.k.a. Cinos, with BVDOT, FRANK and Doom.
DocDef Productions started out as a bucket list item for JB Balaquit a.k.a Doc. The opportunity to cross it out came when he was asked to do a production for a friend’s surprise birthday party in December of 2012. Three years and 99 gigs later, DocDef is now one of the most well attended monthly productions, garnering the Best Production title from the Jack Daniel’s Indie Awards. It has since helped launch the careers of several bands including Autotelic and Farewell Fair Weather, and provided opportunities for promising upcoming acts.
IN D’ FLOW is a play of words between “indie” (the soul subject of the music scene Docdef is promoting), “in the” (signifying that the indie music scene is ‘in the flow’ and that it’s fluid, timeless and universal), and “D” (simply representing Docdef). Docdef100: In D’ Flow follows DocDef’s successful Tagaytay Art Beat, a special art and music event produced in partnership with Museo Orlina. Presented by Cons MNL, this lifestyle event is a celebration of artists and music enthusiasts to prove that the independent music scene is fluid and that music talents in the Philippines are overflowing.
